Legal
Law Enforcement Guidelines
Last updated: July 28, 2026
These guidelines explain how law enforcement agencies and other public authorities can contact Lovinour, what information may be available, and what we require before we disclose member data. They are provided for informational purposes and do not waive any legal objection or right.
1. Where to send requests
All preservation requests, legal process and emergency disclosure requests must be sent to:
support@lovinour.com with the subject line "Law Enforcement Request".
Requests must be sent from an official government or agency email domain, on official letterhead, and must include the requesting officer's name, agency, badge or ID number, direct contact details, and a case or reference number. We do not accept legal process through member support chat, social media or telephone.
2. What to include
- The account identifier: the registered email address, username, or profile URL. Names alone are usually not sufficient to identify an account.
- The specific categories of data requested, and the relevant date range.
- The legal basis for the request and the offence under investigation.
- Whether a non-disclosure obligation applies, and its legal basis and duration.
Overly broad or vague requests will be refused or returned for narrowing.
3. Legal standards
Lovinour discloses member data only where we are legally required to do so, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to prevent imminent death or serious physical harm.
- Basic subscriber information (such as registration email, account creation date and account status) requires a valid subpoena, court order, or equivalent legal instrument valid in our jurisdiction.
- Account content (such as messages, photos and profile history) requires a court order, search warrant or equivalent judicial authorisation.
- Requests from authorities outside our jurisdiction should generally be made through a mutual legal assistance treaty, letter rogatory, or an applicable cross-border cooperation mechanism. We may voluntarily respond to properly documented foreign requests where permitted by law.
4. Preservation requests
On receipt of a valid preservation request identifying a specific account, we will take reasonable steps to preserve available account records for 90 days, and will extend the preservation for one further 90-day period on written request while legal process is obtained. Preservation does not result in any disclosure.
5. Emergency requests
If a request involves an emergency involving a risk of death or serious physical injury, mark the subject line "EMERGENCY law enforcement request" and describe the nature of the emergency, the person at risk, and why the requested data is needed without delay. We review emergency requests as a priority and may disclose limited information where we conclude in good faith that the emergency is genuine.
6. Data availability and retention
We can only produce data we actually hold at the time of the request. In general, account and activity records are retained on the platform for 12 months. Where an account is banned or deleted, the associated records remain accessible to Lovinour administrators for up to 12 months for safety, fraud-prevention and legal purposes, and are no longer visible to other members. After that period, records are deleted or anonymised in line with our Privacy Policy.
Lovinour does not conduct government identity document verification and does not hold official identity documents for members.
7. Notifying members
Our policy is to notify members when their data is requested by a public authority, so they can seek to protect their rights, unless we are legally prohibited from doing so, or where we believe notice would create a risk of harm to a person, of child exploitation, or of destruction of evidence. Where notice is delayed by a non-disclosure order, we may notify the member once the order expires.
8. Costs and objections
We may seek reimbursement of reasonable costs for responding to legal process where permitted by law. We may object to, narrow, or refuse requests that are legally deficient, unduly burdensome, or inconsistent with applicable data protection law.
9. Reporting abuse on the platform
Members and the public should report harmful behaviour through the in-platform report function or by writing to support@lovinour.com. Conduct rules are set out in our Acceptable Use Policy.
This page is maintained by Lovinour and describes our own operational process. It is not legal advice and does not create any obligation beyond what applicable law requires.
